In the first two articles, Karl von Holdt argues that it is in the interests of the working class to establish a multi-party parliamentary democracy in South Africa, as outlined in the ANC’s constitutional guidelines. But for democracy to be revolutionary, it must be complemented by mass organisation and mass struggle at all levels of society.
