Pallo Jordan responds to Slovo’s article: Has socialism failed? He argues that Slovo fails to explain how Stalinism happened, and points to a suppressed tradition of communist critics of Stalin, from Trosky to Bahro. He concludes that Stalinism is more deeply rooted in the SACP than Slovo acknowledges.
