Labour broking, in which companies gain high profits by paying workers lower wages without benefits and protection, is a reality and a growing South African industry that takes many different forms. The increasing exploitation and trading of labour by mostly ‘fly-by-night’ brokers is against labour rights enshrined in the Constitution.
