Unions without comrades: democratisation, structural adjustment and the labour movement in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwean trade unions lack power both at the shopfloor and in national politics. Glenn Adler, Franco Barchiesi and Karl Gostner argues that the unions’ opposition to structural adjustment could form the basis for a broad opposition movement with an alternative political vision.
